Root Beer Pulled Pork Sandwiches



Indulge in the sweet and savory flavors of slow-cooked root beer pulled pork, perfect for stuffing into hearty hamburger buns. This easy crockpot recipe results in tender, flavorful meat that pairs wonderfully with the subtle hint of root beer and tangy barbecue sauce.

Ingredients:

  • 3 lbs pork shoulder, trimmed and cubed
  • 1 cup root beer
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 hamburger buns
  • Coleslaw for topping optional

Instructions:

Place the cubed pork shoulder in the crockpot

In a bowl, mix root beer, barbecue sauce, chopped onion, minced garlic, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper

Pour the sauce mixture over the pork in the crockpot, ensuring the meat is well coated

Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shreddable with a fork

Once cooked, shred the pork using two forks and mix it with the sauce in the crockpot

Toast the hamburger buns and spoon the pulled pork mixture onto each bun

Top with coleslaw if desired
